Our editorial framework
Every credit card review on Hirezaa rests on three pillars that we apply identically to every product we cover. The framework was designed to keep our editorial selection independent of advertising relationships and to make our process fully auditable for readers.
Pillar I — Real-product cross-check
Before any review is published, our editorial team verifies the card's terms against the issuer's official product page. We document the source URL, the verification date, and any discrepancies we find between third-party data (NerdWallet, Bankrate) and the issuer's published terms.
If an issuer revises terms (annual fee, welcome bonus, eligibility, rewards rate, APR), we publish the update within 48 hours of detection. The "Updated" date on every review reflects the last verification — not the last typographic edit.
Pillar II — Editorial independence
Hirezaa earns revenue through display advertising served on these pages (Google AdX contextual ads). We do not accept paid reviews, sponsored content, affiliate placement that influences ranking, or any other arrangement where compensation could shape editorial assessment.
Card ordering in our guides reflects our editorial judgment of the product against the category and the reader profile we are addressing. It does not reflect partner payouts, affiliate commission rates, or referral economics.
Pillar III — Update cadence
Material changes to credit card terms — annual fee, welcome bonus, eligibility tier, rewards structure, intro APR, foreign transaction fee — trigger an immediate review. We monitor issuer pages on a rotating basis and rely on issuer press releases, the CFPB consumer database, and reader corrections to surface changes we may have missed.
If you believe a review is out of date, please write to editor@hirezaa.com. We respond to every correction request within 48 hours.
How we score credit cards
Each card receives a Hirezaa Editorial Score on a five-star scale based on four weighted criteria:
- Value vs. fee (40%) — net benefit after accounting for annual fee, welcome bonus, and category multipliers
- Eligibility access (20%) — FICO requirement and approval profile
- Editorial quality of issuer terms (20%) — transparency, foreign transaction fee, intro APR length
- Category fit (20%) — how well the card fits its primary use case (travel, cash back, building credit)
Scores are reviewed quarterly against the comparable set within each category, not against the universe of all USA credit cards.
Sources we consult
Beyond the issuer's official application page, we cross-reference: NerdWallet, Bankrate, The Points Guy, CFPB consumer database, and issuer press releases. When sources disagree, the issuer's official page is the authority.
Conflicts of interest disclosure
Hirezaa is operated by Incred Growth Tech Ltda. (CNPJ 48.059.155/0001-20), a subsidiary of Gridmidia. Our editorial team is compensated by Hirezaa, not by issuers or affiliate networks. None of our editors hold significant financial positions in the companies whose products we review.
